Honey Refractometer Tester

This hand-held device will measure honey moisture levels between 12% and 27% in half percent increments. The product has a rubber grip and comfortable eyepiece but must be used in a well-lit area for optimal readings. Calibration is temperature dependent and should be performed prior to each use. To prevent fermentation, honey must have a water content of less than 17% (safe regardless of yeast count).

After measurements are complete, use a lint-free cloth to wipe the sample off of the prism surface. Store in case at room temperature, and avoid storing in direct sunlight or in a moist environment.

Note: Refractometers work on liquids only, crystalized and creamed honey must be completely decrystalized to get an accurate reading of its moisture content.
